Hoover-AHEAD Discussion Clubs
In an effort to cultivate and foster a community that better understands and appreciates all of its members, Hoover-AHEAD hopes to engage Hoover citizens in meaningful discussions based on thought-provoking books, podcasts, films, field trips, etc. related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
We’re looking for folks in our neighborhoods who have an interest in helping promote DEI to form small discussion clubs (like book clubs, but not necessarily limited to traditional long-form texts) that will meet several times a year (perhaps even monthly!) to talk through a DEI-related learning experience they’ve all decided to share with one another (based, perhaps, on one of the learning opportunities found in this document, which Hoover-AHEAD has coupled with the Hoover Public Library to create so that folks have a handy list of all sorts of suggestions).
If you’re willing to help with this effort, please complete this form and then keep in touch with the discussion club coordinator, Reed Lochamy (reedlochamy@gmail.com), to let Hoover-AHEAD know about all of the wonderful experiences and discussions you and your friends and family have.
And if you will, please take a few minutes to complete this quick form anytime you complete a discussion club experience.
Thanks!
